Biography

I'm a longtime casual player of MtG, having started way back in 1997, and dropping in and out a few times ever since. I played for a good while during Onslaught and Mirrodin blocks, dropped at Kamigawa and came back this time round for Gatecrash. It is around this point that I discovered Commander (EDH), and I now almost exclusively build and play Commander decks, hitting the 20+ deck mark earlier this year... I think I might have an addiction.

Here we are, the third and final part of our review of all the blue generals available for EDH. Once again, this is current up to the release of Dragon’s of Tarkir and so will not include cards from Magic Origins, despite its upcoming release. I may go back at the end and do a …

A Casual Guide to Generals: Part 5 Mono Blue Commanders Continued

Last time out we got as far as in our review of mono blue commanders. So today, as promised I will pick up where I left off with Magic 2015‘s .

A Casual Guide to Generals: Part 3 – Mono White Commanders

This is the last part in the series for mono-white generals, which will bring us up to a total of 70 by the end. White clearly has a good depth to it when it comes to generals and has a decent selection of archetypes too. Here are the remaining choices:

Cool artwork in the …

A Casual Guide to Generals: Part 2 – Mono White Commanders

In this second part of this series, I will continue our journey through the mono-white generals that are available to use as a general in EDH/Commander. This is a pretty big list, and the first part of this series covered a little over a 1/3 of all the available mono-white generals. As before, I will …

A Casual Guide to Generals: Part 1

In this series I am going to cast my eye over every card that is currently legal to use as a general in EDH/Commander, as it stands at this point in time. I reckon this could be a bit of a mammoth series, and it is likely that the next scheduled set (Magic Origins) will …

EDH Philosphy in Practice – Rhys Token Deck

So in the follow up to my first article, which discussed my philosophy towards Commander, I wanted to talk about my very first EDH deck that I built and how it stands in its current form, to show that philosophy in practice, as well as look at some of the major changes this deck has …

A Philosophy

Hey everyone, welcome to my first article, hopefully of many. I wanted to use this article to explain my philosophy behind building EDH decks for Magic, as this will underpin a lot of what I want to write about in future articles, and it allows you folk to see what I am all about. Hopefully …
